how mediation works ...

Although mediation follows a structured process, the benefit of this method of dispute resolution is that it is flexible and can be tailored to your needs.

The mediator will conduct joint and/or private meetings with each party. The private sessions are confidential, and the mediator will not share any information with the other party, unless express permission is given.

The mediation can be conducted in person, on the telephone or online depending on the circumstances.

The mediator will identify the key issues and seek to understand different perspectives and desired outcomes.

The aim is to bring the parties to a mutually acceptable agreement which will be drawn up in writing. The content of the settlement remains confidential to those directly involved, unless breach occurs, or the parties agree otherwise.
